What A Week So Far

Shelly's birthday was just the start of my thoughts this week. Just being happy that I am able to share yet another birthday with one of my best friends and roommate...It never comes to mind often that it may be your last day or night to share with the people that you love. It started off on Tuesday, when we went to discipleship over at the Roark's. Allison asked me what Shelly's favorite cake was and I knew that it was the great, Pineapple Upsidedown Cake. Turns out she had never made that type of cake before, so we were in for a treat. We showed up and Shelly was so happy :) The cake was so great and we all loved it. I lasted for quite sometime and then I decided to surprise the gang with a lil' party in my head ;) I was happy that I didn't scare anyone. If anything, this is all bringing so many great people into my life. It's amazing how the Lord just works through your life and give you these things that you don't deserve. Let me finish with these thoughts before I get too off track. Wednesday was the BIG day! Shelly's birthday..YAY! Some of us decided to go to IHOP since everyone likes pancakes and fellowship...that's just a combination you can never refuse. There were quite a number of close friends that came(Adam and Natalie Renstrom, Mikey and Tommy Passaro, Shem, Josh, Pri, Emy-Lee and Dana) and then after a while we all got tired and we headed home. It was Josh and Shem's turn to babysit while Shelly got some sleep so she could take over the day shift today. After my last seizure of the night I stopped breathing for way too long for Shelly's comfort. It was so strange......I felt them turn me on my back and tilt my head and heard some of the voices, but couldn't get up and open my eyes...let along breath(that would've been the most important thing to do at that time). After forever it seemed I started to breath. I knew that I had scared the mess out of them.....I mean if it were one of them or any of you, I would have freaked out. I went in my room and cried......Shelly came in shortly after and we sat down and talked. After talking it was so late and we were all tired...it was so hard to get back to sleep, but I eventually did. I woke up pretty early and found a verse I wanted to share: "My flesh and my heart my fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." (Psalm 73:26) I have been blessed with knowing what Christ did for me and just knowing that I am loved that much is so amazing!!!! Also being blessed enough to have all of you has been an awesome gift from God. So...I thank God for all of you!! ;)
