Is Christ Enough?

I see the ways the lord is trying to make me focus on Him alone and forget about the things that are useless in His kingdom. That includes everything...car, furniture etc. All of that is nothing compared to the day we get to see our Father in heaven. For now, there is need for prayer that we will not lose perspective through these times of materialistic things and temptation to "out do" our fellow brothers and sisters. While we are wasting our time with these things there continues to be a lack of self-control and responsibility when it comes to what really matters. I have seen people turn hateful over money and material things and pride has caused most conflicts. Who are we to turn to wicked ways when we earned nothing that we have? The reason why you have that car......JESUS......The reason why you have a house or apartment or even just a place to call home.......JESUS.....the reason why you have sufficient food stock.....JESUS....the reason why you have your job.....JESUS.....God has allowed us to have these things. There are millions of homeless people out there that praise the Lord everyday for the little that they have and we are complaining about things like this. I for one am deeply convicted because I looked at my "things" as important and not at what was really important. If we can sit in our rooms on our comfortable bed and sit on our comfortable couches without feeling the conviction that we should be out there helping others and spreading the word with the knowledge the Lord so graciously gave us, then why should we have anything at all? We have our faith and most of all, the love of Christ. We are nothing without knowing the sacrifice that was made to save us. This week I challenge not only myself, but all of you to really look at the things you have, is it worth that much to you? Do you need it all? Are we too comfortable in the way we live? How are we going to bring glory to God by the way we live, if all we are living for is what "we" have gained and accomplished? What about what the Lord has given and sacrificed? It was never really ours to begin with.
