I Survived The Show...Barely...

So...the events leading up to...during....and after my show are as follows:

1. Almost everyone calls me while I'm on the way to the show to tell me they are not coming.
2. Me and my sister-in-law get lost in the city because Mapquest likes to give you the longest/most difficult route known to man.
3. We park in a parking deck because there's no way I would have been able to beat traffic trying to get to the other side of the city and have to hail a cab to the place.
4. Cab driver almost kills us 3 times.
5. I get gum stuck in my hair....don't ask.
6. Don't eat chinese food in a sketchy place when you go to china town....again...don't ask.
7. Everyone in the place leaves before I go on...so there are only 4 people there at this point...not including the sound guy and bar tender.
8. I get on stage, start talking and the monitor starts sparking, making this "SHHHHHHSHHHHHCRRRRRRSHSHHSHH" noise every time I speak.
9. I just start playing.
10. While I'm playing the guys mother that played before me comes into this place demanding more money for her son's performance...I don't know, but that was sketchy...
11. While playing, listening to this arguement at the door, I forget what I had planned for the set and I even forget words to some of the songs.
12. I forgot I had a microphone in front of my face and decide to go, "pshhhhhhh....wow...I just went blank." - yeah..out loud.
13. I start cracking jokes because I mean...there are only 4 people there anyway and I needed to cover up what I just said.
14. Everyone says,"you played really well!!", "you're funny!" with faces as if they are saying it to make me feel better.
15. I was told I wasn't getting paid for the show because there were not enough people who came to see me play.
16. We get lost going home while laughing at some of the things I said on stage.
17. We encounter the biggest car wreck scene I have ever witnessed.
18. Redirected by state troopers, we were able to see the helicopter take off in the middle of the highway after being stuck in traffic for an hour.
19. Made it home and went through the pictures and some video that were taken and most were not good and you couldn't hear much in the video due to the mom in the background yelling at the people in the bar.
20. Fell asleep around 2am and woke up at 7am to my phone ringing, but it wasn't too bad because I was taken to breakfast and a relaxing day just to get my mind off of a really bad night before.

I guess it wasn't too bad.....Praise God for being great in showing me how to trust Him more!
