A New Season - A New Year - A New Addition....

There have been so many things Sean and I have been preparing for and going through as of late that I tend to place blogging last on the list. However, there are so many things that we can share with you all. Whoever you all are that still read this thing.

After being released from Westchester Medical Center, we had come to the realization that our unborn son may be born very early. We wound up in the hospital just about once per week until the week after Thanksgiving. That is when the baby decided to stay put for a while longer.

By week 36, our boy decided that he kind of liked it in the womb and stopped trying to make a grand appearance for a bit. That was until this past Sunday when I began having contractions that were quite fierce and close together. Though, once we were hooked up to machines and contractions began to be monitored, they began to spread out and become sporadic enough for the doctor to inform me that though I was 3 and 1/2 cm dilated and 100% effaced, I was not having consistent contractions.

So, I have been nesting like the dickens! Making sure all of Luke's clothes are washed, dried, folded, hung up, and ready. The car seat has been set up in the back seat of the car, baby bag, and our bag are both in our trunk ready for the big day. I even have the insurance paperwork ready to go, and the birthing plan. The last thing we have to do is meet with the pediatrician on Wednesday. Hoping Luke allows that meeting to take place.

Baby room is all set up, floors steamed, window cleaned, fresh linens on the crib and bassinet, and completely dusted and ready for when our boy comes home.

Being due in two weeks is exciting. It is also quite scary for me as I just want our boy to be healthy and safely delivered. With as much as we have been through with this pregnancy and even prior to this pregnancy, it has been a very trying 2014 for us.

God has certainly been extremely gracious by blessing me with a husband who is understanding, patient, and just amazing!

Sean and I have had nothing but support, love, and most importantly, prayer from all of you. There is nothing like witnessing love poured out through prayer and support.

Our Christmas was extremely low key. Due to the fact that the doctor wants me to stay as close to the hospital as possible, we stayed home and had a very nice day together. We did the same for Thanksgiving. It meant so much to spend that time with Sean as this was the last time we would be spending any holiday, just the two of us. It was delightful!

Now, with the New Year... 2015, we are so ready to meet our miracle baby, our blessing, our answered prayer. We have had almost 5 wonderful years to spend as husband and wife prior to having this baby. We have grown so close to one another and our faith has been shaped to bring us to this new era in our lives.

We are ready!! Hopefully the next post will be to introduce you to our Luke.

Happy New Year!!

With Love & Anticipation,

Patti and Sean
