This Valentine's Day I Give You .....

OK....happy valentine's day to you all... I actually think most if not all of you would agree with me when I say that this whole valentine's day thing is way over rated. For those of you who have a "valentine" I think that it should be valentine's day for you everyday. Why pick some random day to show your affection and waste money on things that you really don't need? It just raises the expectations of your significant other all year round and if their expectations aren't met....well then...you just have a dissatisfied valentine and your whole night sucks because of that. You can actually do that any day of the week all year round if you wanted to. I have always thought that there should be no valentine's day. Believe me.....if I were bitter about it I wouldn't post it on my blog, but instead I would be in my room sulking and wasting my life away listening to horrible sad music and throwing a "pitty me" session. It's not about me.....it's not about any of us. We are forgetting why we are here. We are here to do the work that the Lord had intended for us to do. If it means me being single....bring it! After doing a lot of reading and just trying to focus solely on Christ it has occurred to me that we are all selfish! We care about ourselves way too much and all of that..."how do i look?", "did you see the new computer that's out...i'm getting it.", "my new car.", me me me me stuff is taking up more of our time than we give to the one thing we actually should be doing......I see myself falling into this category and it sickens me to think that it could be worse....I could be even more selfish and that is scary...I thank God everyday that He whips me into shape before I even get that far.... Praise GOD for those things and Thank HIM for your life! I agree with my roommate's post...read it.. www.shellyeve.blogspot.com ... it's beautiful...because it's TRUTH! So...if I must celebrate this "day" I will do it with my fellow believers and ask Jesus to be the lover of my soul because He will never dissapoint me nor will He ever leave me :) Now that's a valentine!
