It's never promised that life will be easy. We were never given the power to change our mistakes. I often sit and wonder what it would be like if things turned out a little different than what it is now.
How would we all cope with actually having that power to change what mistakes we've made? I think it would ruin the lessons God tries to teach us.
Most of our lives' are spent smacking ourselves in the forehead saying,"stupid, stupid, stupid!" The other half spent wondering where we went wrong in the first place.
Trusting that the Lord will surely guide us through the "mess-ups" in life. I find it hard to trust myself most times. I think that's a good thing. Our trust is supposed to be in the One who is trust-worthy...God.
The next question is, "how can you trust something you can't physically see or touch?"Hebrews11:1-6.. Faith is the key here. Faith is of the spirit. Faith is. It just is, present/now...not what was/past.
Can our faith move mountains? Sure it can. But do we exercise our faith the way Paul states in 2Cor.4:13? Do we ever listen to what we are saying to other people? If we were on the receiving end...would we want to grow and mature in our faith?
Jesus pleads with us in Mark11:22-23 to have faith in God.
So, it's there...we've been given the measure of faith...how are we using it?
Being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Our handle on what we cannot see. Hope is an earnest expectation. Faith is the foundation. Christ showed us that through His life and death on the cross.
We will never be worthy of what was done, but we can stand firm in faith and continue the process.
It's still a struggle for me to follow through with any of this throughout the day. It's the flesh trying to rip the faith.
What do we do about this?
A good start would be to try and stop ourselves from watering the spirit and putting out the flame that burns within. I believe we(I) choose to stop that fire from growing, forcing it to suffocate. What good is a fire on a cold winter day to someone who can't get near it to warm up? It's pointless..
