The Last Word..

It's going to be a difficult task to top the last post. But, this is a blog and it must be updated.

After having a very trying last week, I have noticed a few things.

Why is it that we always want to get the last word? Usually the last word is the most powerful word because it is fresh in your memory. At the end of the final prayer of Jesus Christ, his last words were telling God the Father that he will continue to declare His name that he might share the love that is in him.

John 17:25-26 “O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me. And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”

When we have tasted and seen the love of God in our own lives for so long, sometimes it can become easy to forget how empty we were without it. We forget that there are so many people out there who haven’t yet experienced that overwhelming, unending, grace-filled love of the Father. The love that Jesus felt in his heart was an overflowing love, he couldn’t help but to want to proclaim the Father’s name to others so they could get a taste.

How do we ensure that our love doesn’t become stagnant? How do we keep from taking this love for granted and keep the passion to share it with others?

Psalm 119: 32 “I will run the course of Your commandments, For You shall enlarge my heart.”

As we live according to his word, God has the ability to enlarge our hearts. He can enlarge our hearts for our unsaved family, church, community, nation and world. .

Rick Warren says “You cannot love people the way God loves you without God's power in your life because human love runs out.”

Our love runs out. Our compassion for the lost runs out. Our energy, strength and patience with people will always run out! It is only when we “run the course of his commandments” that we can give out a much greater love.

Read his commandments, live his commandments and you truly can’t go wrong. The first two commandments are to LOVE! That doesn’t sound so bad…
